English B1 level corresponds to those who have the necessary speak fluency to communicate without effort with native speakers. Type of B1 English Test for Citizenship
1. B1 GESE Grade 5
If you want to apply for settlement or Indefinite Leave to Remain, and British citizenship, you must take and pass B1 English test for SELT (Secure English Language Test) in at least CEFR in Speaking and Listening.
B1 GESE Grade 5 exam takes only 10 minutes for each speaking and listening that will be tested. You will get provisional results on the same day meanwhile the certificate will be sent usually within 7 days. As part of your application you might also need to take a Life in the UK Test, which is not a Trinity test.
2. B1 SELT – SEI I
You must take and pass a B1 English test for SELT (Secure English Language Test) at least CEFR in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. It requires for Tier 1,2,3 and 4 visas, Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), Further Leave to Remain, British Citizenship (Naturalisation), and also an application for a private hire driver license that received by Transport for London (TfL).
The ISE I of Trinity exam covers 4 skills in English such as reading, writing, listening and speaking. Usually, the exam will take in 1 day but a certificate will be sent within 21 days.
